Day Three |

Cape Town to Zambia

After breakfast, embark upon your African Journey as you are transferred to Cape Town International Airport for your private jet flight to Livingstone, Zambia and transferring to a light aircraft for the short flight to Mfuwe and the stunning Chongwe House perched on a peaceful stretch of the Chongwe River, set against a beautiful mountainous backdrop.

The Lower Zambezi Valley boasts a variety of activities that few, if any, other destinations can offer. It’s often described by guests as their “happy place” because of its stunning scenery, peaceful riverside woodlands and abundant wildlife.

Breathe in the earthy scent of the river bank as you slip past wading elephants in your canoe. Get your hands on a glittering tiger fish before releasing it back to the water. Drift off to sleep with the sound of grunting hippos and whooping hyenas in the inky black night. Then wake up to birdsong as the sunrise reflects off the Zambezi and plays in the trees.

Best time to go:  April to November

Chongwe House

Time + Tide Chongwe House rests on a peaceful stretch of the Chongwe River, set against a beautiful mountainous backdrop.

A two-storey, four-bedroom, four-bathroom private house, its design blends effortlessly into the undulating landscape around it, with river pebble accents and furniture carved from a fallen winterthorn tree.

The house sleeps four to eight people and features private open-air bathtubs and waterfall showers, a large pool, and spacious indoor and outdoor lounges and dining areas perfect for spending time together.

Game drives, walking safaris, canoeing safaris, boat cruises and tiger fishing are all included in the Lower Zambezi National Park.

Throughout your stay, a dedicated staff and guiding team will look after your every need and ensure you make the most of this haven for lions, leopards, wild dog, 370 species of birds and more.

It was Stanley, who on 10 November 1871 found Livingstone ill, at Ujiji on Lake Tanganyika. It was a very moving meeting and one that was imprinted in the history of exploration as one of his most famous pages.”

The Serengeti National Park, one of the oldest ecosystems on earth, is undoubtedly home to one of the most unique wildlife shows in the world – the Great Migration, one of the Ten Wonders of The Natural World. Huge herds of wildebeest and zebras traverse its plains during their annual migration.

Day Seven |

Serengeti

Today, a highlight of the entire journey with a hot air balloon safari over the Serengeti.  Drift quietly over the tops of the mighty herds as you experience Africa from a totally different perspective.

Relax this afternoon by the pool as the elephant drink from the waterhole or join a game drive as you follow the animals across the plains of the Serengeti.

Later, savor the experience of the hotel's "theatre" kitchen as Pan-African cuisine is prepared right before your eyes.
