VIRGIN VOYAGES
GREEK ISLAND GLOW from Athens 2024
When one thinks about Virgin one expects something different and with Virgin Voyages that is certainly the case. Virgin have certainly "rethought" cruising and even the most dedicated cruisers will be surprised at what they have come up with - exactly what you would expect from Sir Richard Branson!
Surprisingly, as you may not expect, it is not a non-stop party ship but the cruising model is certainly different to what you would find on traditional cruises lines. Let us introduce you to a new way of cruising.
WHAT TO EXPECT & THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCES
For starters, the ships do not follow traditional design guidelines. Expect bright reds & cool greys, contemporary furniture and cutting edge design. When it comes to your cruise fare, the biggest differences between Virgin Cruises and traditional cruise lines are as follows:
-
All food is included in all restaurants, so forget speciality dining surcharges. You also won't find a big main dining room. Instead you have around 20 eateries to choose from. The traditional buffet has been replaced with more of a trendy "Food Hall" concept. Perhaps the biggest surprise is how good the food is across the ship's venues.
-
Forget complicated drinks packages. Basic beverages are included in your cruise fare such as still and sparkling waters, non-pressed juices, soda's, tea's and coffees. Instead you will open a bar tab & if you prepay a certain amount through us we'll throw in even more value to your tab!
-
Wifi - no more expensive and complicated packages. It's included. Browse, post, and stay connected with wifi — whenever you want, and wherever you are on the ship.
-
Tips - they are already included so one less worry!
-
Wellness - Virgin has a strong emphasis on wellness & wellbeing - Yoga, meditation, cycling, HIIT classes, and more — all your group fitness classes are covered.
-
Shows & Entertainment - Developed by the world’s most-talked-about producers and artists, you have a ticket to all of their awe-inspiring shows.

Your Itinerary
Day 1: Piraeus (Athens)
The ship Resilient Lady departs Piraeus (Athens) at 18h00L this evening.
Day 2: Santorini
The ship arrives at Santorini for tendering at 09h00L and departs at 22h00L this evening.
Santorini was formed from the remains of a volcanic caldera which is evident in its rugged geology and is famous for its sheer cliffs, red beach, and whitewashed houses that contrast strikingly against the blue Aegean Sea. The island is also home to ancient archaeological sites, hot spring swimming, and stunning wineries.
The picturesque village of Oia lies on an edge of the volcanic caldera overlooking the shimmering Mediterranean Sea. This excursion takes you to see this fabulous town and its picturesque houses which are carved into the cliffs. Photograph the iconic blue-domed churches and take in the magnificent views. Then, explore little shops and cafes before partaking in a wine-tasting session complete with local food.
If you’re a keen history buff, don’t miss the opportunity to visit the archaeological site of Akrotiri. This Minoan Bronze-Age settlement was covered in ash by the catastrophic Theran volcanic eruption around 16th-century B.C. Only the 1967 excavation revealed the size and value of the site, uncovering exceptionally-preserved frescoes, furniture, and artworks. Wander through this ancient settlement and admire the elaborate drainage system, pottery, and multi-storey buildings.
It’s a crime to visit Santorini without exploring its natural wonders. Visit Perivolos Beach, on an excursion, for a swim in its crystal-clear waters. Renowned for its long stretch of surreal black sand, Perivolos is adorned with colourful parasols. This alluring location is ideal for catching a tan, enjoying thrilling water sports, or enjoying a drink in a local tavern.
Day 3: Rhodes
The ship arrives at Rhodes at 09:00L and departs at 18:00L.
The Colossus might not be standing anymore, but the Greek island of Rhodes still delivers beauty and allure on a giant scale. The island instantly greets you with serene white-sand beaches and wide-open blue skies. See the site in the harbor where the now-destroyed wonder of the ancient world once stood. Then, head to the Old Town, surrounded by medieval walls and seven ancient gates. Don't miss the Palace of the Grandmaster, with its mosaic floors dating from Hellenic, Roman and early Christian times. Shop for a colorful menagerie of seashells by the shoreline — and don't forget to spend some time relaxing beside the translucent blue waves with your Greece cruise..
Day 4: Bodrum
The ship arrives at Bodrum port at 08:00L and departs at 20:00L.
Bodrum is a city on the Bodrum Peninsula, stretching from Turkey's southwest coast into the Aegean Sea. The city features twin bays with views of Bodrum Castle. This medieval fortress was built partly with stones from the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, completed in the 4th century B.C.
Day 5: At Sea
A full day at sea to take advantage of the incredible facilities on-board Resilient Lady. Definitely a good day to hit the Spa.
Day 6: Mykonos
The ship arrives at Mykonos port at 09:00L and departs the following day at 14h00L making this one of the few opportunities to overnight in Mykonos and maybe experience some of the incredible nightlife that has made Mykonos famous!
Nestled in the heart of Greece’s Cyclades archipelago, Mykonos pulses with irrepressible energy. With its powder white houses, sparkling blue waters, and red-hot nightlife, The Island of the Winds is as colorful as the people who call the island home. You can walk narrow marble pathways laced with purple bougainvillea blooms, or go cycling on two wheels past off-the-path Ano Mera village. Explore Greece’s maritime history at Armenistis Lighthouse, and check out the Folklore Museum’s Mykonian ship models. Join in the raucous beach party on Super Paradise’s shimmering sands, or watch the sun burn out beyond an Aegean horizon from an open-air seaside taverna.
Day 7: Mykonos
The ship departs Mykonos at 14h00L giving you an afternoon to relax after discovering Mykonos.
Day 8: Piraeus (Athens)
The ship arrives at Piraeus port at 06h30L.
